    I can't connect to the meeting?

    There may be a number of reasons why you are not able to connect to the meeting. Let's walk through them here one step at a time so we can help you get connected.

    Step 1 - Make sure you are connected to the internet.

    We know this seems obvious but most of the time people can't connect is becuase they are not connected to the internet. Check your internet connection and then move to the next step.

    Step 2 - Make sure the room url is correct.

    If you are getting a 404 page saying "This room does not exist" then you are entering a url of a room that does not exist.

    I'm can't share my screen?

    Chrome browser (version 23 and 24) has made modifications to their built-in version of flash player that has broken the capability to do screen sharing in Chrome. To fix this issue and to give you a much better experience using Meetings.io with Chrome we recommend that you disable the built-in version of Flash and use the installed version of flash which enables screen sharing and better video and audio quality. It's really simple to do and takes only 30 seconds. Watch the video below or follow the detailed steps to disbale chromes flash and use the normal version of flash.

    Step by step guide to disabling Chrome Flash:

    Step 1 - Start by entering 'chrome://plugins/’ in the URL of your chrome browser.

    This will take you to Chrome's plugins settings page and will let you enable and disable specific plugins.

    Visit chrome://plugins.
    Step 2 - Click the 'Details' toggle in the upper right to expand the plug-in information.

    This will expand the lists so that you can see the detailed informations of all the plugins.

    Click Details
    Step 3 - Scroll down to the Adobe Flash Player section. You could also find it via the Chrome search tool (use Ctrl-F or Command-F).

    This is where you'll see the installed versions of flash player. If you don't see two flash players installed you'll need to instll the normal flash player in another browser (not chrome) by following this link: Get Flash Player

    Find the Flash Player section
    Step 4 - Disable the Chrome version of Flash by clicking the 'disable' link. The chrome version of Flash is the one with 'Pepper Flash' in the location.

    This will disbale the chrome version of flash and will now default to the installed version of flash.

    Step 5 - You are finsihed.

    Now go to meetings.io and enjoy using meetings.io on Chrome without Chromes bugs diminishing the audio and video quality.

    I'm can't click Allow?

    Flash player has a know bug in its security panel where users are unable to click on the 'allow' or 'deny' button when flash is requesting persmission to access the users webcam or peer assist. To fix this you can simply use the global flash settings and preselect the domain oi.meetings.io and select 'always allow' to enable meetings.io to always have permission to access your webcam and peer assist whenver you enter a room.     How do I enable peer assist?

    When you first enter a meeting room, there will be an Adobe Flash Player dialog box asking if you want to enable Peer Assisted Networking. You should click allow.

    If you don't see the Peer Assited Networking dialog box, you can go to this link, select meetings.io from the list of websites, and then click the 'Always allow' option above.

    Peer assist enables you to connect directly with the other meeting attendees, rather than via out server. This allows for faster, higher quality video meetings.

    How secure are my conversation on Meetings.io?

    Our video works in two modes - Peer-to-Peer or Relay. The default mode is Peer-to-Peer which features full end-to-end encryption; this is very secure. If you cannot connect via Peer-to-Peer, we fall back to Relay through our server; this is not as secure as Peer-to-Peer but is still difficult to hack. Our screen share feature relies on Relay mode even if Peer-to-Peer is enabled, and has the same security level as Relay for video.

    I'm expereincing bad video and audio quality in Chrome?

    The developers of the Chrome browser (version 23 and 24) has made heavy modification to their underlying audio and video dirvers and also implements their own version of flash that uses these drivers to access users webcams and to distribute audio and video streams directly from one peer to another over UDP. We've discovered that most of the quality issues in Chrome stem from these modification and while we've filed bug reports with Google they are yet to have fixed the issue.     Why can’t I see my Video?

    Check your adobe flash player settings to make sure you have allowed camera access. If you are using Mac OSX you can do this by going to ‘System Preferences’, then selecting ‘Flash Player’, selecting ‘Camera and Mic’, choosing ‘Camera and Microphone Settings by site...’. Selecting ‘oi.meetings.io’ in the website list and choosing allow.

    Also make sure that the webcam you are using, whether it be external or internally built in, has all the necessary drivers installed and is not malfunctioning.

    Why can’t I hear anything?

    Be sure to check on Windows 7 or Vista to check your sound Options by clicking on the volume icon in your taskbar. There are different sliders to see if your volume is on, or on mute. On Apple computers there is a sound icon in the top right corner that you can adjust to make sure you sound is on. Also make sure that in your settings your speaker volume is not set to 0%.

    Peer to peer is a method of sending data through the internet that allows connections directly among users. Unlike other connections, this bypasses our server and connects from browser to browser. This is both secure and efficient.

    Peer to peer is the default way of connecting on Meetings.io. If your firewall prevents peer to peer connections, we will route your data through our servers.

    There has to be someone else in the meeting room in order to screen share. To begin screen sharing, click the screen sharing button on the bottom panel. Once you’re there, select the green button labeled start screen share. There will be a window that appears with different options of how much you want to share. Select options relevant to the meeting and you will begin sharing your screen.

    You can watch videos trough Meetings.io by pasting a link to the video in Live Chat (located in the bar under the video screens). All participants will then be able to watch the video by opening Live Chat and clicking the link. While the video plays, your audio will be muted; you can still talk but need to click and hold the ‘push to talk’ button.
